Lattice is an HR platform for performance reviews, goals, engagement surveys and one-to-ones across a whole company. Welivo is management assurance for sales teams. It records what a manager committed to each week and whether the rep says it happened. They overlap on one-to-ones and reviews. They are different products with different buyers.
Side by side
| Lattice | Welivo | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | HR and people teams, whole company | Sales directors, ops directors, contact centre and agency owners |
| Core loop | Review cycles, goals (OKRs), engagement surveys, 1:1 agendas | Weekly manager commitments, confirmed by reps, rolled into a manager follow-through rate |
| Who logs in | Everyone | Managers and leaders. Reps stay on email, no login |
| Who marks the homework | Managers write reviews, employees self-assess | Reps confirm whether the manager did what they promised. Managers never see individual answers |
| Sales figures | Goals can hold a number | Target, pace, short-of-target in money, next to coaching given |
| Coaching record | 1:1 notes and action items | Typed, dated events (call review, deal review, side-by-side, formal), confirmed by the rep |
| The gap | Not a concept | Reps short of target with no coaching in four weeks, flagged on every manager's row |
| Audit trail | Standard change history | Hash-chained log, reviews signed by the rep with figures attached |
| Pricing shape | Per employee per month, modular | Per manager per month. Reps are free |
| Setup | Self-serve or CSM, company-wide rollout | By hand with the founder, one team at a time |
What Lattice does well
If you need annual or quarterly reviews across the whole business, company goals cascaded into team goals, engagement surveys with benchmarks, and a place for every employee to see their own development, Lattice does that and does it properly. It is a people platform. If HR has already bought it, there is no reason to rip it out.
What it does not cover for a sales team
Three things. First, it has no concept of the weekly manager-to-rep loop. A sales manager makes a dozen promises a week ("I'll sit with you Thursday", "I'll chase finance by Wednesday") and nothing in Lattice records whether they happened. Second, the evidence is written by the manager. A review of a rep, written by their manager, is one person's account. Third, it does not connect target to help. It can tell you a rep missed their goal. It cannot tell you whether anyone coached them in the month they missed it.
For a sales director, those three are the whole job. Which managers are actually managing, and which reps are short with nobody helping.
When to use both
Most of the teams we talk to keep Lattice (or whatever HR runs) for the company review cycle and engagement, and run Welivo for the sales floor's weekly loop. The signed Welivo review, with the figures and the coaching record attached, is what goes into the HR file. If you are a 30-person sales team with no HR platform, Welivo on its own covers reviews, coaching and the record, and you can add an HR platform later if the company grows into one.
